Student Parking Information
Attention Students!
Here are some friendly REMINDERS about parking on campus.
- Parking passes are FREE and are issued on a first come, first served basis. They need to be applied for and are NOT issued immediately. Be prepared to NOT park on campus until your pass has been issued and you have placed it on your car.
- Students MUST have a parking permit on their windshield to park on campus.
- The Staff Parking Lot is off limits. You are not permitted to park in the STAFF lot for any reason between 7am and 4pm.
- Students may NOT park in the Visitor parking spots for any reason.
- If you have an alternate vehicle for the day, you MUST scan the QR Code at the front desk or you WILL be ticketed. No exceptions will be made. The link is also provided below.

STUDENT PARKING INFORMATION
Students are required to complete the Del Norte High School Parking Registration 2024-2025 Application prior to parking on campus. Parking regulations are strictly enforced and students must abide by San Diego Police Department parking laws and regulations. Students may not park on campus without a sticker on their vehicle.

- Driver's License
- Current Car Registration
- Proof of Car Insurance
It is considered a privilege to drive and park on school grounds. Parking is available on a first come, first served basis. Suspension of driving privileges, towing of vehicles and/or disciplinary action may result if a violation occurs.
All California Vehicle Code Laws are in effect, and enforced on campus at all times. The maximum speed limit on campus is 5 miles per hour. If a student has been reported for careless driving on school grounds, it will result in loss of parking privileges. Truancies, behavioral referrals (two per year) will also result in the loss of parking privileges.

ALTERNATIVE VEHICLE PARKING
Students that have a current parking permit and need to drive an alternate vehicle for a day MUST sign in that car before school starts by clicking on this link Alternative Vehicle Registration. The sign in will be timestamped! Please know that you may receive a parking citation if you submit the information once school has begun.
To sign in an alternative vehicle you MUST know the following information:
- Alternative vehicle make and model. Example Honda (make) Accord (model)
- The color of the alternative vehicle.
- Your CURRENT parking sticker number.
This link is provided as a means to sign in a car that you are using on occasion. If you have an event that makes it necessary (your car needs to go in the shop, etc) for you to use the alternate car for an extended period of time, please see Mrs. Byrd in the Administration building.
Fines and Tickets
The San Diego Police Department issues parking tickets on the Del Norte campus. Fines may vary from year to year from the San Diego Police Department.
Tickets will be given for the following violations:
- Parking without current vehicle registration tags
- Parking in fire lane/red zone
- Parking in handicap spot
- Parking in any non-student parking area
Got a ticket? Feel it was in error? Please DO NOT ignore the citation. You have 30 calendar days from the date of the ticket to appeal the ticket in writing with the San Diego Police Department. The instructions to file an appeal are on the back-side of the ticket.
